How To Prepare Your House for our Interior Painting Services
You may already have started your search for a professional inside house painter if you prefer not to take on the headache of painting your home yourself.
Following are some steps you can take to ensure a smooth painting process:
Furniture should be moved and covered - A room that will be painted should be free of small hard furnishings such as coffee tables and light stands. The removal of large furniture such as sofas, suites, beds, and dining tables and chairs may not be practical. To house these items in the interim, a large room or storage space will be needed. You can move the furniture from the corner of the room to the middle.
Appliances and electronics should be removed - In the same way, you should cover or remove appliances and electronics such as televisions, sound systems, gaming systems, stoves, and refrigerators. If the paint crew attempts to move or remove these items to another area of the home, they can be damaged or defaced by paint. If you do not have enough large materials to cover the furniture, electronics, and appliances, no worries. You will probably be provided with drop cloths by the interior house painting contractor.
Ornaments and wall hangings - Painting the walls can be impeded by wall hangings and ornaments. Removing picture frames, paintings, clocks, mirrors, candleholders, and other decorative wall art should be done with great care. You can protect them from breaking by wrapping them in bubble wrap and storing them in marked storage containers.
Make sure soft furnishings are protected - Mats and rugs should be removed from the room and stored away safely. Window treatments such as curtains, drapes, and blinds should also be cleared away. For extra protection, rugs and mats can be rolled up and covered with plastic. This step is necessary even if your ceiling is not being painted by the interior house painter.
Get rid of knick-knacks - Small items, such as knick-knacks, are easy to forget, but they should also be removed from the work site.
Clean and prep the walls - As soon as we are about to have our walls painted, we tend not to clean them. It is true that cleaning does really does make a big difference! A wall can accumulate dust, dirt, and stains over time. When the walls are repainted, you can bet your bottom dollar that you will see them more clearly, even if you can't see them now.
The area should be vacated - It will be difficult for you and your family to spend much time in the rooms being painted. It may be necessary to completely vacate a room or even a house in other cases. Plan ahead and make sure you take all the tools that you will need to use and that you may not be able to access once the painting begins.
